How
How to plan your own “World’s Largest Ball of Twine” trip
To take advantage of scenery, try to make your trips during daylight hours.
Take back roads, instead of highways, as much as possible.
Don’t try to fit too many stops into a day; give yourself time to enjoy it.
One or two WLBoTs in a day is plenty, if you’re really taking advantage.
Don’t travel alone. It’s just no fun laughing at these places by yourself.
Search the internet for things that aren’t usually found.
Sites like Roadside America, Strange USA, and Road Trip Attractions
can be invaluable. There may be other, more local, options, too.
Make it fun. It’s not about the WLBoT; it’s about getting there and back.
While these destinations would like to be ‘tourist destinations,’
remember, the more obscure and farther from the
beaten path, the better the “World’s Largest Ball of Twine”.
After all, you’re not doing this to see the same things everyone else has.
